Lyrics

I remember when, I remember when, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place
Even your emotions have an echo in so much space
And when you're out there without care
Yeah I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much
Does that make me Crazy
Does that make me Crazy
Does that make me Crazy
Possibly

And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice
Come on now
Who do you, Who do you, Who do you
Who do you think you are, Ha ha ha bless you're soul
You really think you're in control
I think you're Crazy
I think you're Crazy
Just like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on the limb
All I remember is thinking I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little
It looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done
But maybe I'm Crazy
Maybe you're Crazy
Maybe we're Crazy
Probably

I love this song and I know, I know it's played too much and when you turn on your radio it's all you hear. At least that's what I've been told. I have only heard it once on the radio but I don't listen to the radio often. I've tried to share this song with people but I think everyone's heard it, and even gotten sick of it. But I think it's awesome still. I heard it for the first time last spring and throughout this year I keep coming back to it.

I like this song for two reasons. One, because it is so damn catchy and when I listen to it I can't stop (usually until I've heard it at least twice). It's a drug for my ears (Stupid Ears). And two, because the lyrics are honestly great. It's hard to write a song that encompasses life and doesn't come off completely cheesy. I think everyone's felt crazy, known someone you thought was completely off their rocker and even looked up to those that have inspired you to be crazy. Some of the song's ability to really make you feel the lyrics is in the delivery too. When those vocals come blasting across the stereo and the vocalist asks "Does that make me Crazy" for the first time it tugs at you and demands you pay attention. It feels like a heart felt cry and yet it’s so amazing to hear. You feel empathetic and at the same time mellow and soothed. It’s a drug for the ears.

I love this song, but hey, maybe I'm crazy.
Title: sanity a little over-rated?    By: JC22

I agree with you--although it can be overplayed, I find the lyrics genuine but not corny. And yeah, I think we are all a little crazy...and can recall a time when we felt out of touch with reality. Ironically, I think we need to sometimes feel a little crazy to remain sane. Because think about it..."reality bites" sometimes. If people are constantly bombarded by the REAL world, refusing to relinguish control, and not allowing themselves to escape into La-La Land once in a while--then they end up worse in the long run.

But hey, maybe I'm crazy =)

I agree. You NEED to go nuts from time to time.

"Ever since I was little, ever since I was little
It looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done"
